A continually-updated resource for information about cancer. CancerNet offers background information about almost all adult and pediatric neoplasms as well as up to the minute data regarding diagnosis, treatment and trials. A good source for recent references.
A great site that provides full-text versions of a number of textbooks as well as about 50 medical journals. It also has other database information. A personal subscription is about $100, but you can try it out for free.
Vesalius is a site aimed at surgical residents that provides narratives and pictures relating to a wide variety of operative procedures and surgical diseases. The descriptions of some of the operations are quite detailed with lots of pictures. The narratives of operations are so detailed and augmented with photographs and animataed graphics that they take a while to load, even with a fast internet connection. Be patient, they're worth the wait.
This site has a very complete list of laparoscopic procedures with drawings and text describing the conduct of the operations. Some of the site is only accessible to members, but most of it is available to everyone.
